Aljezur and the surrounding area<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the western coast of the Algarve and in the heart of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina, is the municipality of Aljezur. Of undeniable beauty, it preserves unforgettable landscapes between the mountains and the sea, in harmony with its valuable natural and cultural heritage.

Sought throughout the year, they mark in a unique way those who visit them, whether by the sun and the sea, by sports or even for a simple walk by the sea.
Aljezur offers a peaceful holiday, just as it can offer an active holiday, linked to sport and leisure, always in harmony with natural values. Here you will find the ideal place for the so-called nature tourism, for the practice of hiking, with observation of flora and fauna, mountain biking, surfing and bodyboarding, sport fishing, orienteering, horseback riding, among other modalities. You can be enchanted by traveling the Rota Vicentina, as well as the Via Algarviana, two great pedestrian routes of great importance for the region and absorb everything that these circuits provide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beaches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Inserted on the Costa Vicentina, the municipality of Aljezur, with a coastline of more than 40 km in length, has a Mediterranean climate with maritime influence and an average monthly temperature that varies between 6\u00ba C, the minimum of the coldest month and 29\u00baC , maximum of the hottest month. The average annual precipitation is 400 to 500 mm and the sun shines from 2800 to 3000 hours per year. NW and N winds predominate.
The beaches surrounded by the serrated profile of high cliffs, sometimes extend into the land in extensive dunes and sometimes are shells of golden sand flanked by towering black rocks. On this coast you can watch a magnificent sunset.
A paradise for fishermen, surfers and bodyboarders, as well as nature lovers, families with children can also enjoy a pleasant and peaceful vacation here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praia da Arrifana<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Paria da Amoreira<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Near the village of Aljezur, Praia da Amoreira benefits from two realities: the sea beach itself and the mouth of the Aljezur stream. This confluence gives rise to an estuary and lagoon system of great natural beauty. Rota Vicentina<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Rota Vicentina is a hiking route in southwest Portugal between the city of Santiago do Cac\u00e9m and Cabo de S. Vicente, which can be covered a total of 350 km on foot. The Rota Vicentina consists of two paths:
The historical path, which leads on a rural route through the most important cities and villages, consists mainly of country roads that are completely accessible or can be ridden by mountain bike in a total of 12 stages with a total length of 230 km.
The fishing path, always by the sea, on paths used by the locals to get to the beaches and fishing grounds, is characterized by a single path that can only be done on foot along the cliffs and 4 stages and 5 steps includes complementary routes for a total of 120 km. The Southwest Alentejo and Vicentine Coast Nature Park, which stretches over 100 km from Porto Covo in the Alentejo to Burgau in the Algarve, is the best-preserved stretch of coast in Europe and is home to numerous unique animal and plant species to have.
